Ann Magnolia is a hardy shrub or small tree that has impressive deep purplish red, slightly fragrant flowers. Resembling a tulip, the blooms are stunning against the backdrop of their dark green leaves. It blooms primarily in the spring, but can bloom sporadically during the summer for a little extra pop. Part of the Little Girl series of hybrid magnolias developed at the National Arboretum in the mid-1950s.
