Just like its name implies, the Swamp White Oak is found growing wild in low-lying and swampy areas. That doesn’t mean that you can’t use it in your landscape. It does well in urban and suburban setting with compacted soil. It’s a striking tree with it peeling bark and lustrous dark green leaves that have a silvery-white underside.
