Carya illinoinensis
With its large, lustrous green foliage, the Hardy Pecan is a great shade tree for large landscapes. After 5 to 7 years, it produces thin-shelled buttery nuts in the fall for you to enjoy. Very adaptable to cold climates. Bark is a slate-gray with a fissured texture. Greenish-yellow male catkins appear in early spring.
